OOC :: Info Post!!!

Look. Friending list goes up? So do the info posts, especially when I've actually had this one written since I got my acceptance email. Shush.

It's that time of year again! Info Post time, Baby! And I'm here to drop on you an info post on quite possibly one of the most ABSOLUTELY NORMAL CHARACTERS I have ever brought in: Miss Sakaki!

Sakaki-san (last name unknown) is from a very popular early 2000s manga and anime series called Azumanga Daioh, which is a slice-of-life comic/show about the lives of six friends at an unnamed Japanese high school. It's a disgustingly wholesome and honestly stupidly hilarious series of antecdotes about their lives and interactions with each other that just makes you feel all warm inside with a bit of absurdist humor and relatable characters. Sakaki is presumed to be the strong, silent, incredibly cool girl in the school, towering over the others at 5'8"/174 cm (and still growing! Which is incredibly tall for a Japanese teenager and at least two inches taller than her next tallest female classmate), who mostly keeps quiet and to herself. Many preceive this quietness as aloofness or stoicism or toughness, but, really, Sakaki is just incredibly shy and awkward around people and mostly keeps herself to the sidelines because of this, despite a strong desire to be loved and accepted by her peers.

Ultimate SQUEEEEEE

Sakaki also harbors a deep, internal love of all things adorable and cute, thus the username. She tries her best to contain herself around adorable things, often dying from eternal squee-ing, because she doesn't know how to express herself very well when it comes to such incredible cuteness. She also feels that she herself cannot ever truly grasp such cuteness, because she sees herself as too big and oafish to pull off cute things, and that if she were to indulge in the cuteness, she would just look ridiculous. So she surpresses a lot of her cute urges, letting it overflow when she's by herself, especially in the form of collecting stuffed animals (who all have names and very intricate, involved friendships with each other, of course!) and drawing cute pictures (although she is really, really not good at artistic things at all).

Sakaki's Face when Someone mentions 'Cat Paddling' like 'Dog Paddling' for swimming

Not only is Sakaki incredibly self-conscious about her height, but she's also self-conscious about the way she'd built, as she is not only tall for a Japanese teenager, but she's also very busty, something her classmates have never been shy about pointing out to her, much to her absolute mortification. She's used to feeling like a complete oaf around her much smaller, slim-bodied classmates and never really feels very comfortable in her own skin or revealing clothing.

Despite her discomfort in her body, Sakaki is actually very naturally athletic and excells whenever she participates in sports or any physical activity, although she really had no desire to pursue them, no matter how many times various sports teams reach out to her to consider joining them. She is generally faster and stronger than even all the boys at her school and always wins sporty competitions without much effort, much to the frustration of her competitors.

Living the Dream

Sakiki will be coming to Fandom High on a special intern scholarship (magically!) through Furndado Animal Shelter, where she will be working to help her pursue her future dream of being a veterinarian (and if that doesn't work, her other choices are florist or plushie salesman). Even though her homeroom teacher is also her English teacher, her homeroom teacher is also a complete disaster, so while she does have a passable grip on English, she does not consider herself very fluent or confident in the language. That, combined with her natural shyness and tendency to be quiet, will probably come into play a little bit with her communications. She will, however, be studying it extra hard and likely feel more confident with it the more she's here.

Cat-on-Sakaki Violence

Despite Sakaki's love for all things cute and especially cute things the feline persuasion, almost all cats seem to completely despite her. No matter how gentle or carefully she approaches, especially when it comes to one cat in her neighborhood nicknamed Kamineko ('Evil Cat', or, more literally, 'Cat God'), they will always avoid her or attack her. Many believe that this is because, despite her good intentions, her size and stoic demeanor frighten the cats or make them nervous. IF YOU HAVE A CAT and would play along with them being nothing but hostile toward Sakaki, it would make me sooooo happy.

Due to the fact that Sakaki cannot say no to precious animals, she allows these felines to maul her mercilessly, thus resulting in her frequently coming into class with bandages. Until people get to know her better, this only feeds into the belief that she is a badass tough girl, and that all of her injuries are from her constantly getting into fights. In truth, Sakaki hates conflict and desires to avoid it at all costs; she would much rather talk things through when possible, even when it comes to the cats. She is also incredibly skittish and easily spooked. She doesn't like ghost stories or scary movies, is terrified of thunderstorms, and is painfully shy around people and incredibly anxious in a crowd.

(Don't worry, though! As you can see, she will one day be free of this CAT-astrophic luck with cats! And she is quite gentle and kind with all creatures, large and small!)

The dog petting scene goes on like that for a good few minutes, I'm serious.

*unintelligible flailing*

And, while we're here and I'm not sure if I'll have the time/energy to write up a big post regarding all my other characters:

No, it's not just to show you how ADORABLE baby Sidon holding a trident about five times his size attempting to face down a MOTHER FUCKING LYNEL is, but that is part of why I'm including this

DUE TO THE FACT that I have some unexpectedly delightful new canon content via Hyrule Warriors that I'm still figuring out exactly how to work into Sidon's story, as well as a whole new game shrouded in mystery coming up that will surely give me some juicy meat, I'm moving Sidon along in his timeline to put him much closer to when the game actually takes place. So he's going to be about 30 years give or take ahead of where he was when he left Fandom.

That also means he's grown quite a bit.

Yes, because he is still growing, and to fit his growth in the timeline, he is easily about nine feet (~2.75 m) tall at this point.

Doors are going to be a problem.

And it's definitely something you are all very free to notice, because, yeah, nine foot tall shark dude is a little hard not to.

That is all!

I'm sorry! HE BIG!!! Which kind of makes everything I said about Sakaki's height seem a bit pointless, lol.

Mipha for Scale.

That's all! Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, concerns, cake, coffee, or an excuse to get me out of work today, because that is where I am going and I would rather not.
